Consolidation in the security industry continued in September 2026. SecurityInfoWatch reported on September 17 that private equity firm Graham Partners has acquired Immix, whose software supports remote video monitoring for professional monitoring centers, enterprises and security service providers. The technology serves more than 200 customers and 100,000 protected sites. In the same report, access control maker dormakaba announced plans to acquire Alliants, a hospitality technology provider, pairing hotel room access with digital guest engagement such as mobile keys.
Many businesses never deal with Immix directly, but if you pay for remote video monitoring or virtual guard services, there is a good chance your monitoring provider runs on a central station platform like it. Ownership changes at the platform level can eventually show up as pricing changes, new features, or integration shifts for the monitoring companies built on top. For hotels and multifamily operators, the dormakaba deal reflects the move toward mobile credentials tied into guest or resident apps.
If you use remote video monitoring, ask your provider which monitoring software it runs on, whether your camera brand is fully supported, and whether your contract allows price changes if its own costs change. Confirm response procedures and alarm verification steps in writing. Hotel operators evaluating mobile keys should ask how the lock platform integrates with their property management system and what happens to existing locks.
These deals are part of a broader trend of software, access control and monitoring capabilities being combined under fewer owners. Review vendor roadmaps at contract renewal.
