We’re a 40-person company with 3 offices, and everyone lives in Microsoft Teams. What should we look at for a phone system?
Since your team already works in Teams, the simplest path is usually to add calling inside Teams rather than run a separate phone system. There are two ways to do that: Operator Connect, where a provider connects your phone numbers to Teams through Microsoft’s admin center, or Direct Routing, where a provider connects them through its own equipment. At 40 users, Operator Connect is typically the lighter lift.
Access One is a strong fit for your size — small and midsize businesses are its primary focus, it offers Teams Phone integration, and it’s known for customer service, with ten Stevie Awards for front-line customer service.
COEO Solutions offers both Operator Connect and Direct Routing, and it specializes in multi-location, mid-market businesses that the big national carriers tend to underserve — worth a look if you’d also like connectivity at all three offices handled by one provider.
CallTower supports Teams alongside Webex and Zoom, which helps if you might switch platforms later. Its own materials say it’s best for companies with more than 100 employees, so ask how it supports an account your size.
One question to ask each of them: if the internet goes down at one office, do that office’s calls automatically ring through to mobile phones or another location?

What “Verified” means
VenSearch has a working relationship with this vendor. They manage their own profile on VenSearch, so their offerings and details stay current — and they've sat down with us for a recorded interview that anyone can watch.
Verified doesn't mean endorsed. It means we talked to them and you can see the conversation for yourself.
Self-guided research gets you the landscape. Advisory gets you the outcome.
The platform gives you vendor intelligence anyone can access. The advisory brings what can't be published — pricing data from hundreds of deals, contract strategies, vendor negotiation patterns, procurement channels that move real revenue.
When your research reveals complexity you can't handle alone, the next step is a conversation — not a sales pitch.
