HP Poly released VideoOS 5.0 in May 2026 for its Studio G62, X32, X52 and X72 systems, moving them to Android 13 in a one-way upgrade, UC Today reported on July 28, 2026. At InfoComm in June, Poly launched Studio Room Compute, starting at $2,499 for Studio 5 and $3,699 for Studio 7; Teams certification for Studio 7 was still pending at the time. VideoOS 5.1, with multi-camera switching, was scheduled for the third quarter. The same report noted Yealink published an Android 15 support plan for some of its MeetingBar and MeetingBoard products.
Operating system versions on meeting room hardware matter more than they appear to. They determine how long a device receives security updates and platform certifications from Microsoft, Zoom and others. A one-way upgrade means you cannot roll back if a problem appears, so testing first is important.
If you have Poly Studio systems, ask your AV provider whether your devices are on VideoOS 5.0, whether it was tested in one room before wider deployment, and what the support timeline is for your models. When buying new room systems from any vendor, ask for the operating system version, the published update roadmap and the certification status for each meeting platform you use. Do not assume a pending certification will be granted on your timeline.
For pricing context, UC Today noted that Microsoft Teams Rooms Basic is free for up to 25 rooms, while Teams Rooms Pro is about $40 per room per month.
