Klarna expanded its partnership with Fiserv this week on two fronts simultaneously. The buy now, pay later provider went live at 100,000 U.S. in-store merchant locations through Clover, Fiserv's point-of-sale platform for small businesses, and separately became available for the first time on Commerce Hub, Fiserv's enterprise commerce platform, for larger merchants in the U.S., Canada, the U.K., and select European markets.
Clover serves small and mid-sized businesses, while Commerce Hub is aimed at enterprise merchants operating across multiple channels and markets. The Commerce Hub agreement covers both physical and digital checkout, meaning merchants can offer Klarna to customers whether they are shopping in store or online. Consumers at participating merchants will be able to pay in full immediately, pay within 30 days, or split purchases into interest-free installments, with a credit decision made on each individual transaction.
For businesses that already run Clover hardware or process through Fiserv's Commerce Hub, no action is required — Klarna's options will surface as an available payment method. For those evaluating payment options for customers, it may be a good time to confirm with your Fiserv or Clover account representative exactly when and how the feature becomes active at your locations, and to review your checkout flow to ensure the added option is displayed clearly to shoppers.
