At its Beyond 2026 conference in June, Pax8 launched a Managed Intelligence Provider (MIP) program for MSPs, along with a portfolio of white-label Managed Intelligence Services and an Agent Store of ready-to-use AI tools for small and mid-sized businesses. Pax8 also previewed an Agent Gateway for multi-tenant AI governance, with per-client isolation, budget controls and token consumption metering. Per Efficiently Connected's June 16 report, the MIP program was in early availability with general availability planned for July 2026, and an agent orchestration platform is slated for closed beta in Q4 2026.
Pax8 is one of the largest cloud marketplaces MSPs use to buy and resell Microsoft and other software. Programs like this mean more businesses will see AI projects, assessments and agents offered as part of their managed services agreement. Pax8 describes the role as closer to a fractional chief operating officer than a traditional technology provider.
If your MSP pitches an AI service, ask what is actually included: an assessment, a deployed agent, ongoing management, or simply a license. Ask how usage will be metered and capped, since AI costs are often billed by consumption, and who owns the agents and data if you change providers. Ask what governance controls are in place, such as who can access client data and how agent activity is logged.
Distributors including Ingram Micro and TD SYNNEX are pursuing similar strategies, so expect more MSPs to package AI services over the next year. Comparing what each provider delivers, not just the name of the program, will matter.
