RISO Kagaku Corporation announced on October 20, 2026, the launch of its ComColor GN Series, a new lineup of high-speed full-color inkjet production printers targeting organizations that handle large volumes of transactional documents, manuals, and mailed communications.
The series uses RISO's oil-based pigment ink with a heatless printing process, which the company says prevents paper curling and supports stable duplex output. The flagship ComColor GN9830 is rated at 180 pages per minute in simplex mode, and the series supports post-processing options including automatic sorting, stapling, and booklet binding. RISO also says the heatless process reduces weekly energy consumption compared with laser-based alternatives, and the main unit incorporates 15 percent recycled plastic resin — three times the proportion used in earlier models. A color touchscreen displays estimated CO2 reduction figures.
Organizations currently running high-volume production printing for billing, invoices, forms, or large-scale internal mailings may want to review whether the speed and media-handling specifications align with their workload requirements. Those considering a mid-cycle equipment refresh would also benefit from evaluating energy and consumable costs alongside purchase price, as the heatless approach changes the total cost profile relative to traditional laser or toner-based systems.
