Verizon reported second-quarter 2026 results on July 24, 2026, adding 193,000 fixed wireless access subscribers company-wide and ending the quarter with 17.12 million total broadband connections, according to its earnings release. The Verizon Business segment posted total operating revenue of $7.155 billion, up 2.6%, though business mobility and broadband service revenue was essentially flat, down 0.1% to $3.728 billion. Verizon also reclassified its international wireline connectivity and managed network services business as held for sale.
For business customers, two points stand out. Fixed wireless continues to grow as an alternative or backup to wired internet, which gives smaller sites more options. And a business unit marked as held for sale means Verizon intends to sell it, so customers using Verizon for international circuits or managed network services could eventually see a change in provider, support model or contract owner.
If you buy international connectivity or managed network services from Verizon, ask your account team how a sale would affect your contracts, service levels and support contacts, and whether change-of-control terms exist in your agreement. Note any renewal dates coming up in the next year and avoid long extensions until the outcome is clearer.
If you are considering Verizon fixed wireless for business locations, ask for coverage and expected speed at each specific address, whether a static IP is available, and what service-level commitments apply. Verizon raised its consolidated 2026 guidance in the same release.
