Equinix posts record interconnections, raises 2026 guidance and capex plans

Equinix reported second-quarter 2026 revenue of $2.625 billion on July 29, up 16% year over year, with monthly recurring revenue up 11%. The company added a record 9,700 net interconnections, posted annualized gross bookings of $424 million, and raised its 2026 revenue guidance to $10.205 to $10.285 billion. It also raised its long-term outlook to 10% to 13% annual revenue growth through 2029, citing firm pricing, and increased its expected annual capital spending to $5 to $7 billion. Equinix said it has 52 build projects underway across 33 markets.

Equinix is where many mid-size and large companies connect to clouds, carriers and partners. Record interconnection growth and firm pricing tell buyers that demand for retail colocation and cross-connects is strong, which generally means less room to negotiate. The company also announced Fabric Geo Zones, a network-level data sovereignty service, and an expanded collaboration with Cisco and NVIDIA on AI infrastructure.

If you have cabinets or cross-connects at Equinix or a similar interconnection provider, review your monthly recurring charges line by line. Cross-connects are often ordered and forgotten, so disconnect any you no longer use. Check your contract's annual escalator and renewal date, and get competitive quotes from other providers in the same metro before renewal.
