Ideal Customer

  • Zoom serves customers of all sizes — from individual solopreneurs and small businesses to Fortune 50 enterprises — with over 220,000 enterprise organizations as customers as of early 2026.
  • The fastest-growing segment in 2025 is companies with 500–5,000 employees, reflecting a strong mid-market focus, and enterprise revenue (from customers engaged via direct sales or partners) accounts for approximately 60% of total revenue.

Key Differentiators

  • Zoom's primary differentiator is its position as a unified, AI-first open work platform that spans UCaaS, CCaaS, employee engagement, and workforce management — one of only two vendors recognized as a Leader in both the 2025 Gartner Magic Quadrant for UCaaS (sixth consecutive year) and the CCaaS Magic Quadrant.
  • Zoom AI Companion is included at no additional charge with paid Zoom Workplace plans, a stark contrast to competitors that charge separately for AI features; the company uses a federated, multi-model AI architecture to dynamically select the best model per task, and has demonstrated industry-leading transcription accuracy.

Industries Served

  • Zoom serves a broad range of industries including healthcare, education (K-12 and higher education), financial services, government (federal, state, and local), manufacturing, retail, frontline/field workers, broadcast/entertainment, life sciences, legal, nonprofit, real estate, hospitality, and technology/software.
  • The company has built industry-specific solutions — for example, Zoom for Healthcare features HIPAA-compliant telehealth tools and integrations with Epic EHR, Zoom for Government is FedRAMP-authorized, and verticalized AI solutions exist for healthcare and education.

Service Coverage

  • Zoom operates globally, with its platform available in over 200 countries and territories.
  • The Americas represent the largest revenue segment, with the rest of the world (APAC and EMEA) accounting for approximately 28% of total revenue as of FY2026.

Partnerships

  • Zoom maintains deep technology integrations with major enterprise platforms including Microsoft (Microsoft 365, Microsoft Teams, Azure), Google (Google Workspace, Google Meet, Google Beam/Project Starline), Salesforce (Service Cloud Voice, Agentforce, CRM sync), NVIDIA (AI infrastructure for AI Companion 3.0), Slack, ServiceNow, Workday, Atlassian, HubSpot, Asana, Box, Dropbox, and Miro.
  • Zoom's Global Channel Partner Program (branded 'Zoom Up') supports resellers, ISV partners, and a Master Agent Referral Program with master agents including AVANT Communications, Intelisys, Pax8, Telarus, Sandler Partners, and others, offering lifetime-of-customer commissions and access to the full Zoom product suite.

Company Size & Ownership

  • Zoom (formerly Zoom Video Communications, now legally Zoom Communications, Inc.) was founded in 2011 by Eric Yuan and went public on NASDAQ (ZM) in April 2019.
  • The company employs approximately 7,438 people globally.

Compliance & Certifications

  • Zoom holds an extensive set of security certifications including ISO/IEC 27001, ISO 27017, ISO 27018, ISO 27701, SOC 2 Type II, SOC 2 + HITRUST, CSA STAR Level 2, PCI DSS v4.0.1, Cyber Essentials, Cyber Essentials Plus, ISMAP, C5, IRAP, and TX-RAMP Level 2.
  • For government customers, Zoom for Government holds FedRAMP Moderate authorization (including for Zoom AI Companion via JAB), DoD Impact Level 4 (IL4) authorization from DISA, an ATO from the U.S. Air Force, CJIS attestation, StateRAMP Moderate, and supports HIPAA (via BAA), CMMC, and FINRA compliance frameworks.

Zoom patches critical Windows flaw rated 9.8 in Workplace, VDI and Meeting SDK

Zoom disclosed a critical vulnerability, CVE-2026-53412, affecting its Windows software, UC Today reported on July 16, 2026. The flaw is rated 9.8 out of 10 and involves improper input validation that, according to the report, could let a network attacker take over accounts without authentication. Affected products include Zoom Workplace for Windows before version 7.0.0, the Windows VDI Client before versions 7.0.10, 6.6.15 and 6.5.18, and the Meeting SDK for Windows before 7.0.0. The same release fixed several high-severity privilege escalation issues, including in Zoom Rooms for Windows before 7.1.0. Zoom said it had no evidence the vulnerabilities were being actively exploited at the time of disclosure. Even so, meeting clients sit on nearly every employee laptop, and a flaw that allows account takeover is the kind of issue attackers move on quickly once details are public. Conference room PCs and virtual desktop environments are easy to miss because nobody logs into them daily. Ask your IT provider or internal team to confirm three things: that every Windows device running Zoom Workplace is on a fixed version, that the VDI client and plugin in any virtual desktop environment were updated separately, and that Zoom Rooms systems in meeting spaces are on 7.1.0 or later. If users can decline or postpone app updates, consider enforcing updates through your device management tool. This is also a reasonable moment to check whether your managed services agreement covers third-party application patching, not just Windows updates, and how quickly critical patches are expected to be applied.

Zoom sells its AI receptionist as a standalone product for any phone system

Zoom has made Zoom Virtual Agent (ZVA) Receptionist a standalone product that works with existing business phone systems, not only Zoom Phone, CX Foundation reported on July 9, 2026. Pricing starts at $29.99 per month per 100 minutes on a monthly plan, or $24.99 per month per 100 minutes on an annual plan, with a free trial for new and existing customers. Features include live translation in more than 10 languages, caller intent detection, post-call details sent by text, and warm transfers that summarize the AI conversation before a person picks up. For a small or midsize business, this lowers the bar for trying AI call answering. You do not have to replace a phone system you are happy with to test it. It is aimed at basic front-desk work: routing calls, scheduling appointments and answering common questions. The article notes it is a rebrand of Zoom AI Concierge and does not have the fuller agentic capabilities of Zoom Virtual Agent, which Zoom points larger buyers toward through Zoom CX. Before signing up, estimate your monthly call minutes, because pricing is per block of minutes rather than per user. Ask how overages are billed, how the tool connects to your current carrier or PBX, and what happens to calls if the service is unavailable. Run the trial on a limited set of calls, such as after-hours or overflow, and listen to recordings before routing your main line through it. Zoom, RingCentral and others are now competing directly on AI answering, so it is reasonable to ask your current phone provider what it offers before adding a separate service.
