Gartner published its 2026 Magic Quadrant for Contact Center as a Service (CCaaS — cloud-hosted software that handles customer calls, chats and digital interactions) on October 19. AWS, Five9, Genesys, NICE, and Talkdesk were placed in the Leaders quadrant, the same group as last year. The notable new entrant is Microsoft, which entered the ranking as a Visionary with its Dynamics 365 Contact Center product.
For businesses choosing or renewing a contact center platform, the report is a useful starting point for vendor due diligence. Genesys was placed highest for ability to execute for the 12th consecutive year. NICE was placed furthest for completeness of vision. Cisco was named a Challenger, while Zoom Contact Center was placed in the Niche Player quadrant for the second consecutive year. The report evaluated ten vendors in total.
Organizations currently evaluating CCaaS options, or whose contracts are coming up for renewal, may want to use the Gartner report as one input alongside their own requirements around AI agent support, integration with existing CRM tools, and total cost. Microsoft's new entry as a Visionary is worth noting for any organization already running Microsoft 365, since it signals increased investment in Dynamics 365 Contact Center as a platform.
