Mitel launched Xpert V9 on October 28, combining a new hardware console — the Xpert 6020p — with refreshed software for organizations that manage large volumes of simultaneous communications. The platform is aimed at emergency dispatch centers, financial trading floors, transport control rooms, energy grid operators and similar environments where missed or dropped calls have serious operational consequences.
The new hardware includes a 12.8-inch full HD work surface with 20 hard keys for frequently used actions. The platform supports up to 600 lines per operator and connects through standards-based APIs to both Mitel and third-party systems. On the resilience side, the hardware supports dual-LAN redundancy — two independent network connections — so communications continue if one path fails. Xpert V9 carries JITC certification (Joint Interoperability Test Command, a U.S. Department of Defense interoperability and security testing program), with encrypted communications, access controls and audit logging built in.
Significantly, this release brings the platform to North America for the first time, following years in which it was available only in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Mitel says Xpert has more than 10,000 deployments across 40 countries. Organizations in regulated or safety-critical sectors that currently run legacy operator consoles may want to evaluate whether Xpert V9 meets their modernization and compliance requirements. Mitel has not published pricing for the new release.
